I was the Maven who stepped in to gently remind that this type of solicitation is not appropriate on these boards, and counter to PT’s mission.    Anneszoo was unnecessarily rude to me, and then Tracy clarified.  The whole situation has nothing to do with whether Personal Use consultants are welcome on PT, which indeed they are, and I reiterated that fact on the thread.   But somehow that became the lightening rod issue.  I find it interesting that a few people have kept stirring the pot to such a boiling point, first on that day to make it so the thread had to be reinstated 8 hours after it was deleted by Anneszoo herself, and now bringing it up months later to attack both new members and the Pink Truth community guidelines.  How RIDICULOUS!!!  That thread is here: http://www.pinktruth.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=65&topic=3033.0 The fact that Shay says she also welcomes PU consultants on her board (sorry, I have not had a chance to check out your site yet, Shay) and also offers education on how to get out of MLM and start their own non-MLM businesses, now that is not much different from what PT is doing, no?   I am sure if the linked site turns out to be not what is represented here, then the link will be deleted.  Shay, I am sorry these folks are grinding their axes on your thread.  I am not “griding my axe” on her thread.  I’m just politely discussing and I told her that I didn’t want my questioning to feel like an “investigation.” The problem I had with Shay’s site, albeit she has wonderful intentions, is the one line: “1. Women who work from home (either with a direct-selling company or your own business you have started from scratch). ” How many times do I have to state this? I was questioning how this site should be a bit of a concern for PT since PT is very much against promotion of DS companies and the like. If Shay was trying to get women out of an MLM, she wouldn’t have had that line up there. As far as moderating the moderators, the Mavens have no actual power to moderate.  They can not delete posts etc.  They can only report them to Tracy (which everyone else can do as well).  I also understand this is not a democracy.  In this place (PT) Tracy does have the sole say in anything that occurs, because she alone has the power.  I have not had my head under a rock. I did notice that.  I understand that someone needs to have the power to make decisions.  However, there has been a recent trend of people disagreeing, and having privileges removed, and so they stopped doing that.  I have no power to do anything, and neither do the Mavens.  The only power I have is to raise the issue and the question. If it were a renegade thought, and I was the only one that thought this, it would be one thing.  I was not out on a limb.  If I am not allowed to question decisions, there is no point in being here.  I had been force fed MK bologna for so long, and not given explanations as to WHY something is done (or being lied to either directly or through omission with so many things), that I now prefer to live my life as an adult who is free to ask questions, and free to disagree. I did not get personal here.  I did not attack Shay.  I did not attack those who gave her feedback on her site, because again, I have no personal issue with her or her site.  I questioned why this thread was ok when the other was not.  I questioned the decision making process, as this thread seems to have been started in a clear violation of a posted rule…when the previously one violated no rule stated at the time.  One has since been added to cover it now though. If Tracy wants it up, so be it (as I have said no one can do anything about that anyhow).  I think somewhere though it needs to be noted, that this thread clearly violates a rule, and it will be allowed anyway.  Really, what do you want from me? I think you are trying to do good things to help other people.  And you seem to have lots of experience working from you home which will really be a help.  But I go back to my original thought.  PUR, thanks for posting the link to the original thread that is raising some questions.  The question that started it all, QUOTE:  “If you are putting in a $200+ wholesale order VERY SOON – please let me know and if you would be willing to order somethings for me” To me that does NOT mean that she is asking someone to place the order so she can get what she needs.  It is simply asking if anyone is PLANNING to do so, and if they are, to contact her!  There have been times I was inactive, but had to order a few things so had to order $200 w/s in order to get the 50% discount.  If I had been in that position when this posting was made, I would have been happy to make part of the order for the person posting the above.  Goodness knows I didn’t need that much stuff on hand, just had to place the large order to “play the game.” So, to me, that places this posting on the same level as Shay’s website posting.  She is not asking anyone directly to buy into anything.  As said before, we are ‘guests’ on Tracy’s site.  She is the administrator and makes all the decisions.  Some are very difficult, I’m sure.  But there have been many postings to let us know that we don’t all have to agree with decisions made, comments made.  I just think that an open airing of differences of opinion, as long as they are respectful and not demeaning, should be a part of a good website. I hope I was able to express my thoughts.  I have been thinking all night about what I might say, but sometimes it is hard for me to put my thoughts into words so that others understand.  I guess what I would like is that the posting PUR listed above be taken back down since it is not serving any purpose being up except to raise uneasiness. pinkmomster Report to moderator   Logged There is always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look for it.       For example, I am sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don’t hurt.

Here is the way I interpreted things. A while back, someone posted a response to an board article (I don’t remember which one or who the poster was) and I felt like it was an advertisement and promotion for her business that sounded to me like it was an MLM.  I did not look into it, but it sounded fishy to me.  It must have sounded that way to a lot of other people too, because the responses to it got really “hot and heavy”.  I did not like that at all. With Shay’s post,  I did not get any indication that she was trying to promote MLM’s or her own personal agenda.  I felt like she was just asking the opinion of PT posters as to what her website looked like and how it could be improved.  She was not asking anyone to join her group or support any of it’s members. To me, personally, there is a big difference between these 2 posts.  I do not envy Tracy’s job in trying to decide where to draw the line.  No matter what she does, there will always be someone who may be offended.  There is also the issue of google ads that directly contradict the purpose of this site.  They bother me too, but I am sure Tracy is trying to figure out what to do about that.  I have to place my trust in her and pray that her actions are guided by only the highest of ethical standards. Although I think it is healthy to diplomatically debate differences of opinions,  I would hate to see it damage the reputation of this site.  There is still so much more work to do and many more things to be accomplished.  I am trying to just look at the greater good that is yet to come.
