I was just rereading the PUR thread and forgot to address this issue, so I thought I’d do it here instead of adding to that long ass thread that takes forever to load.
PUR has asked me to remove the product that she sold in her MLM from someone’s post. Um, no. That’s not outing. Nobody is going to call your house or show up at your door because they mentioned the product you sold.
Should I delete or edit comments that say that someone sold face cream because somebody MIGHT be able to tell who that person is?
I’d like to state for the record that PUR has asked me to alter posts in this way before, and I did do it. Why? Because I was nice. Did she then turn around and do the same for others on PT? Did she condemn Tracy for giving out personal info on her blog? I didn’t see it. Maybe I just missed it.
I’ve not had a problem with ANYONE “outing” on my blog ever. Several times people asked if I would change first names and other info that I do not personally consider outing, and I’ve done it.
Word to the wise. Pay it forward.

Yes I absolutly DID ask that names, contact information, and any identifying info always be redacted on Pink Truth. From hate mail all the way down to someone’s individual post that complained about their old Director. I have now come to the conclusion that even NSDs should be protected as private citizens and not be discussed by name. That is what my Gossip thread was all about!!! If you read that ENTIRE thread, along with the thread where Tracy asks that people not use other people’s names anymore as a new community standard (thread titled: “One of many changes, I need your help”) you will see that I am the #1 advocate for protecting people’s identies on PT.
Please, please, do not punish me like this when I have advocated this positive change on PT. I do not want my MLM advertised on a public forum.

Pur the only trouble with the Gossip thread is that you came across as holier than thou. You also use the term Gossip to close down meaningful dialogue.
It is great that you hit report to moderator and do that when you see things like that, but the practice should come from the top down not the bottom up. Tracy should have been clear right from the beginning with people that it was unacceptable, but she couldn’t because she did it herself on numerous occasions. I saw this many times on the Hatemail thread and when the other Blogs started toasting her chestnuts over it that is when change effectively came into being on a kinder *barf* gentler PT. So yes you did do good there and I will give you that. But honey you need to grab a life, walk away from all things internet and do something meaningful, because blogging on the net isn’t. Most of us can walk away and say so what. This seems to be your life and you desperately need to get something else. Please don’t beat the gossip thread to death anymore. There is more to ethical blogging than not gossiping.

I have read the gossip thread. The parts people send to me anyway since, “I’m sorry guest, you have been banned from using this forum” is the only part I can see personally. The part you wrote seemed to center more on the “trash blogs” gossiping about PT rather than what was going on at PT at the time.
When I was at PT I didn’t see ANYONE saying anything about the hatemail. I didn’t see anything said when Lazy Gardens googled some guy who wrote in and found out what political party he was affiliated with, who he gave donations to, and where he worked. Maybe you were saying something behind the scenes, but it didn’t stop for MONTHS.
At some point there became a general consensus over at PT that outing people was wrong. After that became established suddenly EVERYONE was jumping on the “outing is bad” bandwagon. Prior to that happening, not a single person came out publically and said that putting people’s personal info on the internet should not be done. If they did, your friend Tracy quickly deleted the comments because I never saw them. And I’m REALLY looking!

It is NOT okay to mention someone’s MLM choice? You don’t like it that someone (whoever they are – I must have missed that) mentioned which company you belong to. Right? Okay.
So in that instance – NO MLM’s should be outted in order to protect the identity of the person involved in it. Am I right?
Then WHY talk about Mary Kay then? It just seems a little one sided. Continually, people have been “outted” on the Pink Truth blog about being in MK, and not all the time by the person in question. So, to make everything right – we should apply it to EVERY post, every person and every MLM. Otherwise, it would be onesided. It’s okay to out people in Mary Kay, but not another MLM.
I am sorry if you all think I am slow here, but really, this is confusing. I don’t see how that is outting. Outting to me is names, places of birth, addresses and phone numbers. THAT is outting. Saying that so-and-so belongs to a certain company really doesn’t make it outting in my mind. How many hundreds of thousands of people are in MLM? It would be absolutely impossible without knowing who they were *specifically* to track them down and acquire any personal information about them.
Again, I just don’t see it. But obviously, some do. I guess I agree with Duh and Haggie on this one. I don’t see it as outting. Rather a bit of paranoia.

I disagree, I think if she wasn’t feeling pressure to change her act and is was business as usual prior to all the love-love, nicey nicey going on I think it would still stand. I think T was pushed into that and it was only changed at the time she was roasted and toasted on the anti PT blogs, otherwise she never would have acquiesced to change. I hate everything that PT has spawned. Well Duh, I do like you and my peeps! Honestly look at this, if you scratch the surface of PT and all the dissatisfaction the root cause is Tracy and they way she did and does business on PT. It has taken otherwise good solid women who have formed friendships and created an air of paranoia and mistrust. She sets up people to do her bidding through hatemail, caption that photo and rant in general. She is changing her ways only because she is being forced to because people are standing up and saying ‘Whoa a minute here, this isn’t cool’, after awhile if enough people say it you have to listen. I think T really likes it when people are at odds with each other because it gives her and element of control.
When people started emailing the IBC’s & SD’s at their work or the place the email originated from that was it for me. I thought its bad enough that we roast em and toast em on the blog, but to go out and deliberately spam bomb them, thats wrong. So again it brings it back to ethical blogging, which apparently doesn’t exist in the PT world. I also think PT has changed a little because it has gotten some press attention, once you get that you really don’t want a reporter sniffing around and finding out what is behind the PT mask that is ugly and looks like the back end of skunk instead of something shiny and noble, that kinda hurts the reputation of a high and mighty fraud investigator. So doing it of ones own accord I don’t think so, forced is more the modus operandi at play here.

If any single person can sit online at Tracy’s “community” and say “oh, she’s trying so hard” and ignore the things that she has done and continues doing, then guess what, you’re no better. You’re condoning her behavior.
I’ve always said that a person needs to be responsible for the information they put out on the internet. I still stand by that, I’m 100% positive that I never gave Tracy that video clip. I gave it to someone and once I did that it was out of my hands. Do I have issue with that person? No. Any issue I have is with myself for being naive in thinking I would retain control over its’ web whereabouts. That was over a year ago and clearly I’ve learned many things since then. The biggest thing I’ve learned is that Tracy only cares about Tracy. From my first interactions with her on MKSurvivors where she chased members off by attacking them to now where I’d politely asked her to take down the clip, she’s always been the same. It’s all about getting her money shot.
The next biggest thing I learned was how Tracy is nothing more than a virus. She gets in, sets up and destroys what is there. Everything she’s done in the last two years has left a trail of conflict and misery. Name one relationship that survived? Every friendship she was a part of was destroyed at some level. I’ll stand corrected if need be but I don’t think it’s necessary.
At this point, I’m tired of holding up a shield from my MK connections. I don’t care anymore. I have my experience, my history and my own opinions. If those people have issue with that, so be it, they’re entitled to it. I don’t care anymore. My fear once that video posted on Tracy’s site was that someone would recognize the event, put some numbers together and suddenly I’d be on some major shit lists. I wasn’t wrong in my fear. There were a few people commenting about being there and remembering the event.
What right does Tracy have to hold that or anything else over any one of us?

Just the other day I was in the $ store and picked up a lovely book that had a picture of a cat and hamster on the cover. It had blank pages for me to glue articles and pictures into that otherwise would have been thought as scrap. Books came in all different sizes and colors. There was even a book with the picture of a squid on the front. There was one that had different shapes that reminded me of cheese.

I guess what would satisfy me is that you look at three situations and really think about what role you played in them, in each and every instance, from my persepctive as an observer you came in on something that had absolutely nothing to do with you.
1) The trader thread, where you boo’d and smited people who were doing nothing wrong, you took issue with it, if you had really read what they were talking about they were making a trade of MK drek or enquiring if anyone would order something for them, which is fine because it wasn’t at retail, it was between IBCs.
2) Imauzer and Sickie. In that instance you came in like a tornado at the end when it had been settled. I too took issue with what Imauzer said, it implied all women who signed onto MK were dumb/stupid. Sickie tried to set that straight for all of us, she did and then you came in and opened up the can of ugly crawly PT worms again, after it had been settled. This resulted in privvies going poof.
3) The Busty anxiety thread, you hadn’t been seen on that thread unless you had been lurking all along with the hidden button, I don’t know if your still doing it, but it creates an air of mistrust. You stuck your nose in their again and stirred the pot. I don’t know if you had seen the JWUT thread with the woman who was talking suicide, which was far worse than the anxiety thread, but at my last look before I left PT, you hadn’t even chimed in there to say stop diagnosing, etc, and that was by far worse.
You want slack from me then answer my questions, take more ownership for what you did to Sickie, because that did result in her getting banned. Maybe I am beating a dead horse, but that is how I feel.
You are extremely lucky because NAB has tried like hell to go to bat for you and actually incurred the wrath of many, including mine. As for mere words of apology, I don’t post on PT anymore, nor do I visit, its unhealthy. So I will just have to take your word for it that you are trying.

Sorry this response is late, tried to post earlier…
1. The ISO thread. I could tell the whole darn story, but a non-consultant was seeking an item that can only be purchased with a $200 qualifying order from an active consultant. I stepped in to remind that this type of solicitation goes against the mission of PT and chaos ensues. Hurt feelings and misunderstandings all around. It was a mess. Topic gets deleted by the topic starter (yes, you can delete your own topics on the trading boards) and 8 hours later it was reposted and locked and stickied with a clarifying note from Tracy. Yada, yada yada, you know the rest of the story. OKAY. So I have apologized for smiting her karma in response to a very rude post to me. I took a purest stance that abusive posts qualifies for a smite. Posts you like get a karma boost. Goodness knows that smite button is a hot one, if more folks just smited me instead of being pissed off silently for months on end until erupting over here I would have learned something constructive much earlier. Anyway, I think I could have handled that whole situation better if I would have just sent a PM or something instead of jumping in. The fact remains that that type of ISO post still does not belong on PT. Maybe any other more MLM friendly forum. Oh well, in the end too much human casualty for such a hairsplitting point. I feel terrible and have learned from this.
2. That poor MK husband. What a welcome he got! Too bad that thread is gone, because you would need to go back and really look at it again. I had no idea things were settled — it looked terrible what was being said to him IMO so I let him know he was welcome at PT. Sickie apparently smited me twice in the aftermath. I did not even see them both because Tracy removed them. I do not know if that was the 9,992nd or the 9,993rd straw that broke the camel’s back between them. It is just a day in the life of a board, and that was just one itty bitty thread. Dang. Nothing to be getting banned over, so there must be more to it!!! And it really had nothing to do with me. So in essence, we will all never know all of the things that ever went down between them — but maybe we each have a tiny piece of the incomplete puzzle.
3. I actually don’t read all the threads at PT. There are too many. I liked talking about MLM, and sometimes I check into threads that never go away on my unread topics list. When I read the plz thread I kinda freaked out about all the recommendations and mental health diagnosis going on. And stupid me, I did not just PM her with my concerns. I commented on the thread. Uhg. How dumb is THAT?!?! So I apologized to her THREE times already. Twice publicly and once privately. Short of never doing it again and self-flagellation I don’t know what else you want from me.

Please hear me out. Yesterday I posted on this blog a rather longwinded message that was an attempt to point out that I don’t think there is a way to get around the mess between Sickie and PUR without going through it. In the middle of that post I said some things that I need to answer for. I thought I knew more about what was going on than I did, and I need to own my ignorance and my misunderstandings.
I said that things have gotten horribly out of control, and had they been addressed earlier on, they may not have gotten this far. I was unaware that things HAD been worked out. The posts/chat etc apparently had been discussed and worked around between PUR/Sickie. I didn’t know that. Somewhere along the line new things surfaced, or old things resurfaced. I don’t know where, and I am not going to guess. However it appears that there was a period of time that was “ok” between these two. I am sorry that I did not know that and made assumptions that they were never discussed before now.
I started one of my paragraphs with “Sickie I have never had any issue with you.” That really dismisses how I have felt about her. I consider her among friends, although right now a friend I have done wrong by. I should have said that I have trusted her. I have shared some intense things with her. I have benefited from her advice, and it helped me a lot. She helped me work through some really weird times with my SD, as well as been a sounding board for me re: my family. Posting that I have never had issues with her dismissed the fact that I don’t see her as a screen name, I see her as a friend.
In that same paragraph I said that I thought Sickie and PUR were good at backstabbing each other. While PUR has posted enough on this blog to show that she has back stabbed Sickie…but not ever giving tons of evidence because that is gossip, there is only one thing that Sickie could be accused of doing. She did share PUR’s mlm. That was the part that I was going on when I said they were good at backstabbing. I didn’t realize that, again, this was almost a YEAR ago, and that PUR/Sickie had made amends with each other to a point since then. Again, I made an assumption, and I didn’t have facts. I should have said that it appears that they are good at hurting each other. They are. No one is better at hurting you than someone you trusted. It appears these ladies did have some form of a relationship, and it has gone horribly south since that time.
Also in that same paragraph I made a rather flippant comment that I hoped she had not back stabbed me. That was my own fear. Had I been more adult, more awake, more aware of her feelings I would have come to her and asked. At this point though, I realize I was none of those things. In my own insecurities and uncensored mouth I said something with no basis of fact that has hurt her, and I consider her a friend. I did not want to hurt her. I didn’t think. That is my own fault, and really I can’t say anymore than I am sorry, because I don’t even have the words.
In the end I have become painfully aware of how much I *thought* I knew, and I was wrong. I don’t know if I can make it right, I would like to. I am sorry.

I did not know that Sickie betrayed me last year until now. If I had known then that she could not be trusted with any information whatsoever, especially the number one thing you don’t want her to ever tell anyone else, then I would have cut off all contact with her at that very moment. Sadly I belived all of her denials and it took other bizarre behavior and hearing too much gossip about others over a period of months for me to say, “Enough!”

I came here to apologize to folks for my behavior and careless words on PT that have knowingly or unknowingly hurt, caused embarrassment, annoyed, and/or offended people. I have learned that my writing style is recieved as very condesending, as well. All constructive critism, and coming here was a very frightening and humbling opportunity to face those I have harmed and offer my sicere regret and apologies.
The Sickie thing morphed out of my being here since so many repeatedly said I had to apologize to her as well. For what? That is what I could not figure out. For ending a toxic friendship? I am still reeling from the discovery that she told Tracy my stuff when I asked her not to. And then to find out what she said about me in the very begining of our friendship to people I did not even know — in chat and email and who knows what else. I simply cannot peel back the layers of what she thinks I have done to her, and I am leery of discovering what else she has done to me. I want to think the best of her. I always did. I hope we can learn from this and move on in our separate directions.

I debated a long time ago sending those comments to DUH for posting, but I felt it was important for me to be a heck of a lot nicer to/about them then they ever were about me.
Both need to realize (and admittedly Sickie is much farther along this path than PUR) that some of the things they did/said they will NEVER be able to live down because there were too many witnesses and there is a record. Both should have given more thought to their actions before they engaged in them so gleefully at others’ expense.
And the saddest part of all of this is that I believe both of these women are basically nice and well-meaning people who are/were caught up in the “web” of a lunatic. All that meanness and negativity to remain in the good graces of and receive internet privileges from a jackass.
For a person who would set you up like OJinACasino before EVER taking responsibility for something she instigated, motivated, or failed to prevent.
I just hope it’s all worth it.

What is the real test of a “friendship” even a cyber one is finding ways to love people “warts and all.” We all have ’em (yes, ScrewU….I’m outting your warts.) That is why I hung in there so long with Tracy…but nothing ever seemed to get better, only worse…she never seemed to grasp the idea that vulnerability and humility are not flaws but strengths and should be cultivated. I’ve tried to have that same attitude with PUR as well. I’m disappointed by how things went down the last few days around that…I had hoped that she wanted to be better than she had been in the past. Maybe she does, I’m not convinced right now.
As far as Sickie goes that’s been such a different cyberfriendship than PUR or Tracy. Where being in relationship with Tracy fostered fear and doubt…being in relationship with Sickie, no matter what EITHER of our shortcomings we’ve been able to be better for it over time. We’ve ALL made mistakes in the past year (well, maybe not you Duh…ha!) but the real test is time and how we are different today than we were a year ago. I like to think I’ve gleaned something from this whole thing because if not, well, that’d be sad.

MKV was archived because two of the co-owners didn’t want to lose the excellent writing that occured there.
So yes, it’s archived, but I’m not reading it every day, not even every month or every quarter. Occasionally, MKV will ask me about an old post and I’ll go search for it. It’s nice to have a record.
It keeps some of you hookers honest…or at a minimum humble.

Sickie – If you all were exchaning phone calls, I would consider that a step towards a real world relationship and maybe even a step toward friendship, so yeah, I could understand that.
I also understand the email saving thing. My main email auto deletes after 7 days if the email has been read and not saved elsewhere.
MKR, I understand saving a deleted blog/forum too. The paralegal part of me would probably do the same. Mostly for a CMA (cover MY ass) than the great writing I have done, but my blog is different than what MKV was. 🙂
